The piece of altar marble under Mary and Phoebe, and the piece of wall mosaic under the Infant of Prague and Adalbert, are from the ruins of the church of St. Mary, built in 1922 and then purposely demolished in 2007 after Hurricane Rita. My mother retrieved these pieces from the rubble of her beloved girlhood church in conscious violation of the orders of the diocesan bishop. I'll never return them either.
